Folklore Lover

Le Molitor

Just a few minutes' walk from the village and the bell tower, with their absolutely magical views, Le Molitor revisits everything that makes the mountains so charming and Megève so attractive, in a contemporary, graphic score. A large wooden chalet with green shutters and the rustic elegance of Le Même. On three levels, Alpine folklore and hushed, arty design blend seamlessly. Always with the same attention to detail that is the signature of Chalets des Fermes, whose 5-star hotel service is a real dream, made-to-measure of course.

Less than 10 minutes' walk from Megève, Le Molitor offers guests a 330 m2 haven that's both chic and peaceful. You'll feel sheltered from the noise of the world, yet right next to the village and its bell tower, which you can admire from the covered terrace, leaning against the large wooden counter next to the balustrade, or curled up on a large, soft sofa. Decked out in green and terracotta, with plush, thick fabrics and beautiful furnishings combining contemporary and traditional designs, the large lounge and dining room, which can accommodate up to ten guests, revisits all the codes of the Alpine chalet with conviviality and refinement.

XXL cast-iron bells hanging over the large dining table, bold contemporary pieces such as the fireplace, adorned with green ceramics, and the irresistibly soft Bulbe armchair, molded wood door frames and openings, antler chandeliers and hunting trophies, or beams and walls sublimated by the brushes of artist Franck Lebraly...the Molitor unfolds an arty, rustic atmosphere, resolutely modern folk. Bookends in the shape of ibexes, ceramics in the guise of large fruits or wild animals, including bears and foxes parading on furniture or in masonry alcoves, paintings of alpine landscapes or abstract, graphic motifs, each object carries a story with it.

A genuine invitation to share, the chalet kitchen opens elegantly onto the dining room and living room. Wood, in some cases in molded, rough or patinated rights, is present everywhere, as is the stone worked with minerality on the floor, in slate, or with preciousness and color like the credenza, dressed with the Lacanche grand piano in green. The upstairs wine cellar, with its entirely glazed walls, plays on transparency, revealing the nuggets it houses. Green, white, beige, black and blue, each of the five en-suite bedrooms has its own elegant and unique color scheme, such as the XXL headboards draped in soft, made-to-measure Italian fabrics. The bathrooms, meanwhile, are a perfect match, like the ultra-chic bathroom in all-over mineral green.

Every object, every room in this chalet reflects the Sibuet family's attachment to fine things, a chalet that Marie and Nicolas know very well from their grandparents' home. Nothing is duplicated here; on the contrary, the Molitor cultivates exceptionality right down to the staircase, which is clad in cowhide on the first floor and adorned with a fresco by Franck Lebraly upstairs.

Back from a walk in the forest or on the slopes, you can plunge into the Nordic bath on the terrace, facing the breathtaking panorama of Mont Jaillet. Even if some prefer the sauna, located in the fully-equipped gym. To top it all off, the Molitor offers a tailor-made 5-star hotel service. You just can't get enough of the breakfast and afternoon tea, ultra-fresh and tasty - since everything is homemade here - and served daily. The same goes for the fire and housekeeping, provided daily by the housekeeper. What about a dog sled ride? Just ask the chalet manager, as with everything else. A dream come true.
